The CONDUIT 053 - John Massey - DJ Mix

I was recently asked to put together a new DJ mix for The Conduit Podcast series managed by the good people at VinylJunkie PR and 530Techno. The mix includes a lot of material from myself, good friends and other great artist-Big thanks to Sean-Michael Yoder & Symbio Oo
Hope you enjoy the mix

Here is a quick write up on the mix taken from the conduit website:
Seattle producer John Massey just blew our mind with his recent Brutal Shores EP for the ultrahip techno imprint From 0-1. We love repping West Coast techno, it’s the sound of home and a chance to share something we love with the rest of the world. Here John explores his own records, those of friends, and also of other Seattle artists for a mix that feels very family oriented. Massey’s techno work is unparalleled but we also find ourselves engaged by his futuristic hip-hop collaborations with the immensely talented glitch hop producer DJ Zero One as well. Is there anything this guy can’t do? - Sean-Michael Yoder

John Massey/Brutal Shores EP/From 0-1

13 isn't a bad number at all, it's the day of my birthday, when combined with friday it's the day jason killed all those kids at that camp and it's now the numbered release on From 0-1 featuring your's truly ( Hi! ) The brutal shores ep features 3 original tracks Brutal Shores, Brother's Keeper , Quinault Assault and 2 amazing remixes provided by midwest stronghold's Mike Gervais and Kyle Geiger. I would go into details on the tracks but that's what label write up's are for. I will say that i enjoyed putting the release together and will provide one fun fact about a track. Last year my brother was in a motorcycle accident while in the hospital he had a series of tests performed including a sonogram. I was able to record the procedure so took the content and flipped it into the Brother Keeper track...Fun , right?! Hope you enjoy the release-Cheers!!

Big thanks to From 0-1, Mike Gervais and Kyle Geiger for making the release happen

JGarrett / Vaporizer / Mass Blunted Remix

Back with some summer heat From 0-1 provides another great release featuring our friend in the north JGarrett. Garrett sets the basis of the release with 2 heady dubbed out techno gems that are sure to set the mood whenever exposed. Supporting Garrett in his efforts Jonah Sharp, Milkplant, Kris Moon and yours truly(J-Mass)all take their own approach in remixing Garrett's "Vaporizer" Providing a wide range of summertime techno certain to appeal and exceptional to any time slot

Review taken from official From 0-1 promo:
Following in line is John Massey of Seattle, whose 'Blunted' remix keeps the deep dub spirit of the original but with a techno dance floor attitude. John's mix also contains some sagely advice, and we'll leave it at that. ;)

Kroman Celik/Kuadro-John Massey Remix

Subsensory Recordings comes correct with the 31st installment in the label series featuring KromanCelik with support from remixers Aaron Nesbit, Audioelectronic and yours truly (John Massey) . The venetian duo KromanCelik set the pace with the original Kuadro, a dark , driving minimal classic that is gonna be in rotation for a while. Aaron Nesbit's remix picks up the energy a bit providing a high paced rhythm section, funky bassline and leading stab melody that carries the track beautifully. Next is Audioelectronic who takes a deeper approach infusing phat basslines with lush melodic atmospheres all driving behind a hypnotic beat that is sure to start the night out right. The final remix is provided by John Massey who doesn't like to critic his own music so he would suggest that you check it out yourself and let him know what you think ;) In closing, this is a very well rounded release from subsensory recordings that provides a heater for anytime of the night/party
