John Massey / Somber Celebration / From 0-1

It's been a long time coming but i'm happy to make my return to the mighty From 0-1 with my latest solo effort. This was a conceptual project with a lot of sentimental value attached. The tracks were conceived during some of the best and worse times of my life. With a passing of my mother and birth of the son, I can say a lot of emotion was channeled through these tracks. The release includes 2 amazing remixes from the great Mattias Fridell, both centered in his signature driving techno funk, never to disappoint!

Here is a quick write-up from the label:
For our 26th release at From 0-1, we welcome back resident artist, John Massey of Seattle. John, a longtime member of the From 0-1 crew, delivers three effective cuts for the floor; while Mattias Fridell flexes his remix muscle with two stellar interpretations of the original.

Release supported by: Kyle Geiger, Drumcell, Krenzlin, D-Nox, Electric Indigo, Subjected, Angy Kore, Madben, Miss Electric, Deas, Pascal Feos, Ilario Alicante, Axel Karakasis, Noah Pred, Raphael Dincsoy, Chris Liebing, Bryan Zentz, Szeb, Dave the Drummer, Patrick DSP, Donor, Tom Newman, Pezzner, Pinion, Plural, The Automatic Message, Pierre Deutschmann, etc...

Pareidolia / Uun / John Massey Reduction

Not wasting anytime we're right back at you with another remix for the home team, From 0-1. This time i had the honor to remix one of my favorite domestic artist and upcoming talent Ryan Malony AKA Uun. I went for a stripped down reduction of Ryan's original, utilizing only the basics to create a hypnotic body of repetition. While this remix didn't get as much attention as i hoped, i'm damn proud of it and enjoy playing it in DJ sets.

Here is a quick insert from the official promo:

Following up on the Converged Compilation from 2014, Converged: Remixes looks to From 0-1’s core artists, and two guest artists- Axkan of LA, and Aaron Litschke of Minneapolis for reworks of the originals.

John Massey / D.C.T. / Subspec Recordings

After a brief hiatus i'm happy to announce my new release on Subspec Recordings featuring none other than Bryan Zentz on remix duties. Bryan has been a long time friend and constant inspiration so having him on board for this release is truly "full circle" for me.

Here is a quick insert from the official promo:
John Massey returns to Subspec with two brand new, exclusive tracks in his propulsive signature style. D.C.T. and I.S.T. are straight forward studies of punchy percussion riding on a river of bass. Making it a full Pacific Northwest Techno connection Portland’s veteran producer Bryan Zentz rounds things out with a stomping turn toward the dark with his ‘Death Comes Tomorrow’ remix of the title track. All three cuts are grade A grooves for the most demanding sets.

Supported by: Dustin Zahn, The Advent, Brendon Moeller, Drumcell, Aaron Nesbit, Uun, Margin Walker, The Automatic Message, ET (A-Squared Muzik), Milkplant, W. Daniels, Van Czar, DJ Manos, Bobby Dowell, Robin Banks, Jay Zoney, Complicit, DJ M-TRAXXX, Andrew Duke, Revy, Dancefloor Mayhem, Rennie Foster, Sone, Centrikal, James Kelley, LilRoj, Daya, Slam, DJ YouWe, Matt Ess, Chad Neiro, Miss Shelrawka, Todd Normandy
